Charlie is Social Director at BDG and leads the organisation’s cross-brand social media strategy and growth.
After graduating from Cardiff University with a BA in English Literature in 2015, Charlie gained experience interning with Mashable and writing freelance for the likes of DIY Magazine, Wonderland, London in Stereo, and more. She joined BDG in 2018 as part of the launch team for Bustle UK, building a demographic-appropriate strategy and voice that would bring one of the U.S.’s leading women’s lifestyle site to a brand new audience.
In her role as Social Director at BDG, Charlie is the senior most leader on a team of ten executing the social media strategy for eight of the U.S.’s premier digital media outlets, including Bustle, Elite Daily, NYLON, The Zoe Report, Inverse, Scary Mommy, Romper, and The Dad.
Across platforms, BDG’s brands reach more than 89 million followers on social media and have accumulated 6.1 billion social impressions in 2024 alone. With over six and a half years experience at the organization, Charlie has amassed an in-depth knowledge of the brands and their output, becoming acutely in tune with the nuances that are required to achieve success on each. During Charlie’s tenure at the company, BDG has been named Hottest In Social Media (2021) by AdWeek, and honored in The Webby Awards’ Best In Social: Entertainment category.
Outside of work, Charlie is a keen pop fan and Disney Adult. In the last year, she has learnt to drive (it’s never too late) and taken up cricket (a bit like baseball, but better).
